Instagram Twitter Facebook PinterestToday is the day of short stories I recently read THE JEWEL and THE WHITE ROSE I don t normally read this between the numbers fillers, but this deleted scene is free to read here, and I figured why not Let s dive back into this incredibly f ed up world and see what else Ewing has up her sleeve Bring it I say Bring it all Surprisingly, THE WISHING WELL is not a story about Violet Instead, it s a backstory into the secrets of the world revealed in book two It s [...]

    2. You have awoken me from a dreamless slumber, and broken the spell cast upon me by an evil man To thank you, I will grant you each one wish As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for.Though part of the Jewel series, this book doesn t follow any of the main characters from the story Instead, his tale is taken from an imaginary collection of stories akin to Grimm s Fairy Tales Think of it as a dystopian version of The Language of Thorns, which Leigh Bardugo invented for her Grisha series. [...]

    3. The Wishing WellOnce, in a time long, long ago, there were two sisters who lived in a small village by the sea The elder sister was raven haired, with eyes as dark as coals, somber and serious The younger was fair, joyful, and quick to laugh, with eyes like fire, a bright and burning amber. One day, while on an errand for their father, the sisters came upon an old well, lonely and forgotten, its crumbling stones covered with moss The sisters peered into its depths, but they could not see the bott [...]

    4. This story book was mentioned many times throughout the trilogy, so it was nice to finally read it And I don t know what it is about older sisters, but they must be something else in this world Though Violet wasn t anything like that, so I dunno I enjoyed this short story, and it definitely didn t take that long to read

    5. Found and downloaded it off the post on EpicReads.Interesting I know the story is talked about a few times in The Jewel but it wasn t what I was expecting given how it was discussed in that book.Still an interesting find, and a bit of back history into some of the characters.

    6. this should have been in the series a great parable, they could have worked some interesting symmetry into the storyline with this story as the native thread.

    7. Es el cuento del pozo de los deseos un cuento corto que no puedo dejar de relacionar con la historia de Sil y de pensar si tendr cierta relevancia para entener lo que suceda en los dos ltimos libros de esta trilog a

    8. First Sentence Once, in a time long, long ago, there were two sisters who lived in a small village by the sea It was a good fairytale I think if you look closely you can see how Violet s story and this one have some comparisons.

    10. January 7th, 2015 MINI REVIEW4.5 stars, because if only it was longerfelt really too short for me, ugh What is it that attracts me to these kinds of fairytale like stories I just adore them Maybe how they re written Or maybe what morals they hold Perhaps it s the feeling of reading a fairytale as opposed to an actual story for once is appealing because you know it couldn t possibly true just maybe, of course If anything, there s something whimsical about these kinds of talesThis is the tale of t [...]

    11. I really liked this story and how the author set it up to tie in with the series It was a very dark little tale, which I loved, and I totally bought that this is the type of fairytale bedtime type story that parents might tell their children in the Lone City I also really liked how good of a metaphor it really is for the series as a whole, and what the message of it was.Even though I was pretty disappointed by some parts of The Jewel, this story has reminded me how excited I am to continue on wi [...]

    12. I recently won The Jewel The Lone City, 1 in a giveaway and came across this little story by the same author It is a VERY short little fairytale but I enjoyed it a lot view spoiler how great would it be if you could read and remember a dozen books in one sitting hide spoiler and I am now looking forward to reading The Jewel.

    13. This is the tale of two sisters that are granted one wish and what happens in tune to what makes us human the positive and the negative I just wish this was longer so my cracked heart would have to weep over and gleam from this tale But some tales are like that, short and sweet or rather bittersweet in this case.

    14. I liked it I wished it had been a little longer or maybe included in the first book haven t read the other two so I don t I know if it s somewhere there I just read another review where it said that even children stories are traumatizing and I just couldn t agree I still like it, though, and I can t wait to read the rest of the series.

    15. Nice little story entitled The Wishing Well, which is a famous short story mentioned in The Jewel.Nothing really new except for the wonderful story itself, which sends out a nice message between two sisters.

    16. This just feels like a bunch of fairy tales and fables were bunched together and tweaked a bit before it was published The only reason I read this is because of that twist at the end of The Jewel Never has a series that I hate so much compelled me to keep reading.

    17. I normally hate novellas that are little fairytale type stories but this was short enough that it held my attention the whole time I enjoyed it It was equally disturbing and cute sweet It was weird Worth the read though
